The best predictor of success for your child.

What is the best way to tell how successful your child will be? It has nothing to do with intelligence or even the amount of work your child does.

Research* concludes that when parents are involved in their child’s education at home, their child will do better in school. And the more extensive your involvement, the more your child will achieve. The benefits of being involved in your child’s education are not confined to the early years of schooling: there are significant gains at all ages and grade levels.

Perhaps even more importantly, the research suggests that it is what you do with your child AT HOME is more important than your involvement with your child’s school.

How do you support your child’s learning? Research points to the following as ways to be involved in your child’s education.

* Create a home environment that encourages learning

* Have high, yet reasonable, expectations for your child’s achievement and make sure your child understands them

* Discuss school matters with your child

* Celebrate your child’s school successes

* Discuss any learning difficulties your child might encounter
