FAQ’s
Q: Who do you work with?
Parents of children aged between 7 and 14 who have concerns about their child’s education.
Q: Why do you only work with parents who have children between those ages?
My Home Study System was specifically created for parents of children between seven and fourteen years old.
Before the age of seven most children have not developed a specific learning style. It can be difficult to know the best way to help them learn.
Children over fourteen have often developed bad learning habits that can be difficult to change.
I do offer my service to parents of children from five to fifteen on an individual basis. Contact me to discuss my one on one services.
Q: Why do you work with parents?
Parents are often the first to notice their child has a learning difficulty and they can provide the help a child needs.
I am aware of the vital role parents’ play in helping children learn. When a child has support from both a caring teacher AND a loving parent, they can reach their learning potential.
Q: What do you mean by ‘an underachieving student’?
When a bright child struggles to learn, or when teachers and parents think that a child ‘could do better’ this often indicates an underachieving student. The child is not able to learn as well as he is capable of learning.
Q: Why have you created a Home Study System for parents?
I have worked one on one with many families, helping them understand how their child learns and what they can do to support their child’s education. The Home Study System allows me to help more parents, parents who are concerned about their child’s learning and want to know what they can do to help.
Q: What makes the Leading to Learning Home Study System so special?
Three things:
- It is designed to be used by parents to help them understand why their child is having learning difficulties and to discover exactly what they can do to help. The special role that parents have in helping children learn and the recommendations given are designed to specifically fit the parental role.
- The Home Study System teaches parents how to fix the causes of their child’s learning difficulties rather than just the symptoms. If you don’t know why your child is struggling to learn how can you know what help your child needs? This system is more than a quick fix for low grades; it is a way of helping your child become a lifelong learner. Once you know how your child likes to learn and what learning skills your child needs to develop, you are helping your child for a lifetime.
- This system helps you understand your child’s path to success. Children learn in different ways and have different learning needs. This is not a cookie cutter approach to helping your child. With specific recommendations and advice we can create your child’s unique roadmap.
Q: How can I find out if my child has a learning difficulty?
Download the free Parent Starter Kit, fill in the checklists, and tally the results. This kit is designed to help you find out if your child is struggling to learn and if you are providing the help your child needs.
